Accepting Jesus

it's just that simple.

Coming to accept and know Jesus is easy. Saying a simple prayer, like:

"Jesus, I recognize that I am a sinner in need of a savior. I am asking for you to come into my heart and wash away all my sins. In Jesus' name."

It is just that simple.

The thief on the cross who recognized that his time on earth was coming to a sudden end realized he too needed a savior. His simple prayer (Lord, remember me... Luke 23:42-43) was from the heart and that is the key. A simple prayer has to come from the heart and you have to mean it.

What's next?

1. Get a Bible if you do not have one and start reading. Start with the four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John).

2. Find a local, Bible-believing church and start going. The purpose of reading your Bible is so that you can be fed and the purpose of going to church is so that you can enjoy fellowship with other believers and grow in Christ (scripture reference: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 & Hebrews 10:25).

3. The next is to pray. Pray, pray, pray (Matthew 6:5-8, Hebrews 4:16, Philippians 4:6-7)! Talk to God, like you talk to your mom, friend, or co-worker. He desires to hear from you and as you communicate with Him on a daily basis, you will grow stronger and closer to Him, just like a relationship.

4. Lastly, tell others! Hearing your testimony, no matter how simple it is, can certainly affect those and may draw them to Jesus Christ as well. (Matthew 27:19-20)
